Student Employment

Campus and Visitor Relations serves as the welcoming front door to University of Wisconsin-Madison and the official destination for campus and community information.

CAVR strives to provide a top-notch student employment experience. Our work would not be possible without our student employees – they are at the center of all we do.  Rock the red polo and get paid for making a difference in this high impact leadership role while joining a vibrant community of 100+ student leaders.

Applications  are currently closed. Our applications for Information Guides and Tour Guides will post mid-October on the student jobs board. New guides will start in January 2027 for the spring semester. We do not hire guides to start in the fall semester.

Student hourly positions

Information Guides act as ambassadors by answering questions at our campus and community information desks via phone, in person, and email. They strive to provide a positive first impression as the front line representatives at Union South, Memorial Union, and the Discovery Building.

Tour Guides act as ambassadors by leading the iconic and impactful campus tour. They provide daily campus tours specially designed for prospective, transfer and admitted students and their families/guests as well as customized tours for specialty groups.

Suite Staff interns serve in administrative, marketing, or frontline service roles that support one or more of our programs. They also lead special projects and assist with operations and employee engagement functions.
