Adult Customized Campus Visits

If you are bringing an adult group to UW–Madison (i.e. alumni group, civic group, conference participants, foreign delegation, etc.), we can help coordinate your visit from our list of customized tour and venue options.

As the birthplace of the Wisconsin Idea, UW–Madison believes that the boundaries of the university are the boundaries of the state and beyond, and that everyone should benefit from the campus.

Guided campus tours are not available through the Campus Visit Program on the dates listed below. This is due to previously scheduled events, academic breaks, and/or limited student tour guide availability. When completing the Campus Visit Request form, please choose only campus venues on these dates. Please keep in mind that self-guided tours are an alternative option to consider and these dates do not apply to venues.

  • January: 1-21
  • February: 14, 17
  • March: 2, 6, 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 27-30
  • April: 3-6, 10, 13, 17, 20, 24, 27
  • May 2-25

Visit Request and Rate Information

  1. The Campus Visit Program staff coordinates visits on a first come, first served basis based on the date and time you submit your campus visit request.
  2. There may be dates that we are unable to accommodate visit requests due to holidays, university academic breaks, final exam periods, commencement, and high-volume prospective and admitted student visit days.
  3. If you would like to visit during a high-volume visit month (October, March, April, May, and the first two weeks in June), we encourage you to submit your campus visit request at least six months in advance. For other times of the year, please submit your request at least four weeks in advance.
  4. Many of the UW–Madison campus tours and venues have a maximum group size of 20-25 participants per session due to space and staff availability. Therefore, total group size is limited to 100 students and chaperones per day. Groups larger than 100 are encouraged to visit over multiple days.
  5. We divide a large group into smaller groups and coordinate customized round-robin visits and tours, but we can’t guarantee that all attendees will participate in the same activities during your visit.
  6. Many of the tours and campus visit options are free for UW Department and non-profit groups, but some venues do require a nominal fee per visitor. Those options are noted with an asterisk (*) on the Customized Visit Options page.
